Fireman receives championship ring 6 years later

By Josh Giles Sports Writer It’s a moment that was six years in the making. Rory Smith was a member of the Six Nations Chiefs lacrosse team that won the Mann Cup six years ago. And six years ago, the Chiefs held a party where they gave out the championship rings. Unfortunately for Smith, he wasn’t able to attend the party. But all wasn’t lost when Brian Miller decided to hold onto the ring for safekeeping. “Brian Miller saw my ring was left behind, so he picked it up knowing he’ll run into me down the road sometime,” Smith said.
