Indigenous swimmer breaks personal records in Brantford

By Josh Giles Sports Writer BRANTFORD-Last weekend saw the Western Regional Swimming Championships hosted at the Wayne Gretzky center, and Indigenous swimmer Evan Thomas performed very well for the London Swimming Club. Thomas is 13-years-old from Munsee-Delaware and beat his personal bests in nearly every event he competed in. In 11 races, nine of them saw Thomas beat his old time, and many of them he beat by more than three seconds in a race. Thomas made the finals in 5 events and even placed second in the 100 meter butterfly swim, which is his favourite. In the finals of the Butterfly Swim, he beat his preliminary time by 3.69 seconds.
