NLL suspends play

By Josh Giles Sports Writer The first league to suspend play because of the coronavirus was the NBA, many others immediately followed suit and the National Lacrosse League (NLL) is no different announcing Thursday that they would suspend all play until further notice. In a statement the NLL said it is in the best interests of fans, players, coaches and staff to temporarily suspend play, and that “security and safety are a top priority and focus in these challenging times.” Although many players will be out of work they still understand how serious the situation is. “It’s in the best interest of everyone involved,” said Toronto Rock player Johnny Powless, “I’m hoping we can resume play soon but that is out of my control.” The Rock had planned a special…
