That’s when Team Canada decided to pull its athletes from the venue in light of the world wide COVID-19 crisis. Within hours Australia announced they too were pulling their athletes. The Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) and the Canadian Paralympic Committee (CPC) announced Sunday they would not be sending athletes to the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. Canada is calling for the games to be pushed to 2021. The International Olympic Committee had not made a decision by press time whether to cancel the 2020 Olympics.
