Residents worried cigarette factory going up on Third Line

By Donna Duric Writer Dozens of residents living along Third Line Road between Cayuga Road and Hwy. 6 are concerned that a new cigarette factory is being built in the midst of their neighbourhood. There are already two cigarette factories in the neighbourhood, said Coun. Hazel Johnson, and the residents are already unhappy with the consequences of those existing factories. “There’s already one big cigarette factory on one side and it’s already causing them a lot of heartache,” said Johnson. “They’re fed up. They want this council to take a stand.” Soot, noise and unpleasant smells are among the main concerns, Coun.
