Manitoba Moose win award for Indigenous themed jerseys

By Josh Giles Writer In January, the Winnipeg Jets, and team affiliate, Manitoba Moose wore Indigenous themed jerseys for Follow Your Dreams Day. For the Manitoba Moose, that just happened to get them the American Hockey League’s Most Unique Community Relations Award. The event for the Moose and the Jets was meant to celebrate diversity as well as encouraging young First Nations players from across Manitoba to achieve their dreams. “The Moose welcomed over 200 youth from remote northern communities including Shamattawa, Lac Brochet, Pauingassi, Duck Bay and Oxford House, “ said Moose Community Relations Coordinator Raquel Payne.
