Historic drive-through graduation honours Six Nations students

By Donna Duric Writer Hundreds of community members came out to honour Six Nations 2020 graduates on Saturday afternoon with a historic drive-through celebration, recognizing the students’ achievements while maintaining social distancing in light of Covid-19. About 50 graduates braved the blazing heat in the parking lot at the Six Nations Gathering Place on Chiefswood Road while over 100 vehicles, decorated with congratulatory signs and balloons, drove through the parking lot honking and cheering for the young students. It was an historic and unique way to celebrate graduation, given the challenges Covid-19 has posed for community gatherings this year.
