Canada Games host announces creation of the Indigenous Partnership Council

By Josh Giles Writer The Canada Games has made remarkable strides in diversifying themselves. The games’ Host Society recently announced a partnership with multiple Indigenous communities to create the Indigenous Partnership Council (IPC). This is a historic day for the Canada Games as this marks the first time that various Indigenous communities will be represented. The IPC will be comprised of representatives from local to provincial, and national communities including, Six Nations, Niagara Regional Native Friendship Centre, Fort Erie Friendship Centre, The Mississaugas of the Credit First Nations, Métis Nation of Ontario, Inuit and Brock University. The goal of the initiative and the vision of the ICP is to share the diverse cultures of all these Indigenous communities and unifying everyone involved. They do plan on playing an important role…
