By Josh Giles Writer Jeff Shattler is a professional lacrosse player in the NLL with the Saskatchewan Rush. The 35-year-old and has amassed quite the resume in lacrosse and in the NLL and now he is using his platform to expand the game of lacrosse in other Indigenous communities through his academy. Although Shattler was raised in Toronto, he is a member of the Ojibwe Nation, and is currently residing in Regina, Saskatchewan where he started the Shattler Lacrosse Academy. “I really started it two years ago with the intention of growing the game in Saskatchewan,” Shattler told Turtle Island News. “There’s a lot of reserves out there that don’t know the game of lacrosse, and I want to be able to introduce it to them.” Through lacrosse, Shattler has…
