Applications being sought for 2019 Canada Winter Games Legacy Fund

By By Sam Laskaris, Local Journalism Initiative Reporter There are still a few weeks left for groups, including Indigenous organizations, to apply for some money from a legacy fund created following the 2019 Canada Winter Games. Those Games were held in Red Deer, Alta. A legacy fund of $650,000 from this multi-sport event has now been designed to support various groups within the province. The funding announcement came last month. And the deadline to apply for funding is April 2. Guy Pelletier, the chair of the Legacy Fund Society, said he knew about 10 applications had already been sent in as of Tuesday this week.
