OJLL land acknowledgement

The Junior ‘A’ Lacrosse League has a new look and logo to go with the upcoming season.

The Ontario Junior Lacrosse League (OJLL) is set to kick off soon, and wanted to start it off right with a land acknowledgement. Before their 2021 draft where multiple teams needed to restock, they said, “We begin each meeting together by acknowledging the Indigenous and First Nations Peoples of all of the lands throughout Ontario that we all call home. We recognize that these lands and territories throughout the province, where we live and where we gather to play lacrosse, traditionally known by Indigenous Peoples as the Creator’s game, were inhabited by people long before us.” They also took the time to remember all of the children that have been lost to residential schools in the land acknowledgement. “We would like to a moment to acknowledge the terrible news we…
