Drive-thru Bread and Cheese

Six Nations is about to celebrate Bread and Cheese Day. Six Nations Elected Council has chosen Friday August 27th for the day everyone can line up, this time in cars, and get your chunk of cheese and bread in a COVID-19 safe drive-thru event. The Six Nations celebration has always astounded our neighbours who have never understood its intriguing, underlying importance. How something as simple as a hunk of bread and cheese actually represents an international relationship between governments that places emphasis on a treaty relationship focusing on economics, culture, lands and governing. The event actually began with a relationship with the “Crown” and is normally held annually on Queen Victoria’s birthday in May, a national holiday in Canada, and the day she chose to remember her allies the Haudenosaunee…
