Haudenosaunee deer harvest has begun

Haudenosaunee deer harvest begins November 8. The annual Haudenosaunee deer harvest is underway. The harvest began Monday, Nov., 8 under an agreement between the Haudenosaunee Wildlife and Habitat Authority (HWHA) and Hamilton Conservation Authority (HCA) for the 2021 season. The agreement is based on the existing Protocol agreement that addresses the Treaty Rights of the Haudenosaunee on HCA owned lands. Haudenosaunee deer harvesting for the 2021 season will be held in two areas of the Dundas Valley Conservation Area (DVCA) designated as Schedule A and Schedule B for the months of November and December 2021, harvesting will occur according to schedules, a statement from the Hamilton Conservation Authority said with no public access in one area that also has no trail system.
