No in person meetings of Six Nations Elected Council yet

By Victoria Gray Writer Six Nations Elected Councillors continue to meet virtually due to renovation in the band office and council chambers. They hoped to return to in-person meetings by the end of October, but a leaky roof is threatening to keep them meeting via Zoom for another month or more. Councillor Sherri Lyn Hill-Pierce asked when they could go back to in-person meetings on the general council meeting on November 9. She wanted a specific date, but didn’t get one. “Can there be a day we will be back in chambers?” she asked. She has advocated for a return to in-person meetings since the decision to send children back to in-person learning almost a year ago, but COVID-19 renovations to the administration building has kept councillors meeting virtually.
