Ankou seeking NFL consistency while advocating for Indigenous causes

Ankou, a 27-year-old defensive tackle, is currently in his second stint this year with the Buffalo Bills. He was signed by the Bills on Nov. 16. He had previously inked a deal with the Buffalo franchise this past June but was waived by the club in August. Ankou, who is Ojibwe and a member of Dokis First Nation in northern Ontario through his mother’s side, has also bounced around to several other NFL organizations this year. He’s also signed contracts with the Atlanta Falcons (twice) and has also had stints with the Pittsburgh Steelers and Tennessee Titans.
