If there’s snow… there’s snowsnakes!

By Lynda Powless Turtle Island News It was cold, the wind was blowing across the fields and you could see your breath. But nothing could stop Six Nations snowsnake season from taking place with weekend competitions on including this past weekend. Hosted by the Longboat family the favorite winter sport saw six teams of over 40 competitors and supporters gather at a field off Seventh Line to compete in a game over 500 years old played before the arrival of Europeans to North America. One of the organizers Rob Longboat said despite the cold it was a good weekend to play. He said the teams created their own tournament to play this past weekend. The teams had competed in the Woodland Cultural Centre tourney that was been put on hold…
