Monture takes over coaching reins of Six Nations’ Junior A Lacrosse

By Sam Laskaris Writer Stew Monture will once again be behind the bench for the Six Nations Jr. A Lacrosse club. But this time around he’s not just a fill-in. Monture had served as the head coach of the Six Nations Rivermen, the Senior B men’s squad from 2012 through 2019. But the Rivermen, members of Ontario Series Lacrosse (OSL), had both their 2020 and 2021 seasons wiped out entirely because of the COVID-19 pandemic. When it was announced that the Six Nations Junior A Lacrosse side would compete in a shortened regular season schedule in the Ontario Junior Lacrosse League (OJLL) last summer, Monture agreed to step in and coach the club.
