Ontario Summer Indigenous Games is on for 2022

The Ontario Summer Indigenous Games are back after a ceremonial virtual launch event Tuesday, March 15, 2022. Organizers called the games a “critical milestone for the Indigenous Sport Pathway, the Ontario Summer Indigenous Games shine a light on the journey of young Indigenous athletes, striving forward for excellence.” The Ontario Ministry of Heritage, Sport, Tourism and Culture has provided a $250,000 grant to the games. The games this year will be held on Algonquin Territory ( Ottawa, Ontario). The 2022 Ontario Summer Indigenous Games (2022 OSIG), are being held in partnership with the Algonquins of Pikwakanagan First Nation, the Government of Ontario, City of Ottawa, Ottawa Tourism, and the University of Ottawa.
