Six Nations Councillor says HCCC should help with costs

By Victoria Gray Writer There’s a growing list of infrastructure needs in the community and Six Nations Elected Council (SNEC) is suggesting the Haudenosaunee Chiefs Confederacy Council HCCC) help foot the bill. Roads on Six Nations were hit hard this spring due to freeze and melt cycles, it could cost more than $700 million to fix the damage. The weather has also caused flooding, which requires flood mitigation, updated drainage and more. The community is also facing water line expansion and limited access to grant to help them connect to the lines among other projects that benefit community members.
