Over $30 million in COVID-19 funds flowed to Six Nations

By Victoria Gray Writer View full list here Organizations on Six Nations received more than $30 million in COVID-19 relief funding from Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) throughout the pandemic. ISC has provided $836,158,515 to 265 First Nations organizations, including band council’s, health care organizations and more, since March 2020. Six Nations Elected Council (SNEC) was given $26,811,656.48 and is third highests on the list after the fly-in communities of Sioux Lookout First Nations Health Authority (SLFNHA), which received $43,002,393.00 and Sandy Lake First Nation, which was given $28,664,852.89. SNEC were asked for a breakdown of where the funds were spent, but by press time, SNEC had not provided the information.
