Investing in Mother Earth is as easy as planting trees By Victoria Gray Writer Turtle Island News made planting those oxygen giving and fruit baring trees easier at its 24 Annual Tree Give-away on April 22 at its Chiefswood Road location. This year’s focus was investing in our planet to stop climate change in its tracks and to involve community members, businesses and governments to make bold moves, equitably to create sustainable and profitable pathways forward. The newspaper gave away more than 1,000 White Pine and Cedar trees as well as more than 100 Cherry trees, blueberry and raspberry bushes.
