Local Junior A lacrosse club still seeking first win after overtime loss

By Sam Laskaris Writer The Six Nations Jr. A Lacrosse Club came awfully close to registering its first win of the season on Monday. But the local squad was edged 11-10 in overtime by the St. Catharines Athletics, in an Ontario Junior Lacrosse League (OJLL) match staged at the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena (ILA) in Hagersville. Six Nations staged quite the rally to get the match into OT. The Athletics led 10-5 heading into the third period. But Six Nations scored all five goals in the final period while managing to keep the Athletics off the scoreboard to force the extra session. With the setback, Six Nations suffered its fourth straight loss of its 2022 campaign. Six Nations’ head coach Stew Monture was pleased to see his squad stage a comeback…
