SNEC reviewing conflict-of-interest, councillor says she was targeted

By Lynda Powless Editor Six Nations Elected Council (SNEC) says it is reviewing its conflict-of-interest rules after at least one councillor felt targeted at recent meetings. Councillor Hazel Johnson said she wanted to address the conflict of interest issue that sprang up from an April meeting in which a new police officer was introduced to SNEC. Councillor Wendy Johnson asked the council if anyone was in a conflict. Councillor Hazel Johnson said the issue stood out when it came to herself having to declare a conflict over the introduction since the new Six Nations Police officer was her grandson.
