The Attack, members of the renamed Women’s Major Series Lacrosse (WMSL), formerly the Ontario Women’s Box Lacrosse League, won two out of its three matches in the circuit’s opening weekend of action. For starters, the Six Nations-based Attack defeated the Akwesasne Outlaws 4-1 in a Saturday morning match. The Attack was then edged 5-3 in a Saturday night contest against the Arthur Aces, who captured the league title in 2019, the last year a season was staged. Both the 2020 and 2021 campaigns were cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Attack concluded its weekend by beating the Niagara Turtle Islanders 4-1 on Sunday morning.
