Rivermen clinch top spot in Ontario Series Lacrosse standings

By Sam Laskaris Writer Despite the fact they have about one-third of their regular season contests still to play, the Six Nations Rivermen have already clinched top spot in their league. The Rivermen guaranteed themselves first place thanks to a lopsided 14-4 Ontario Series Lacrosse (OSL) victory over the host Ennismore James Gang this past Saturday. With the win the Six Nations squad boosted its record to a perfect 11-0. None of the other squads in the six-team circuit are able to overtake the Rivermen, who have five regular season matches remaining. Six Nations’ head coach Darcy Powless said he was unaware his charges had clinched top spot in the OSL standings until a conversation with team president Jeff Powless following the match. “I’m happy for the players,” he said….
