Snipers’ bench boss captures Arena Lacrosse League coaching award

By Sam Laskaris Writer Darcy Powless successfully led the Six Nations Snipers to an Arena Lacrosse League (ALL) championship in the spring. And now, more than two months later, Powless has been singled out for his coaching efforts. League officials announced this past Thursday that Powless was chosen as the Coach of the Year for the ALL’s East Division. Besides the seven-team, Ontario-based East Division, for the first time the ALL also included a four-club West Division featuring clubs in British Columbia this past season. Though the Ontario champs did not end up squaring off against the B.C. winners, league reps are hoping to one day stage a national ALL championship.
