Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation by-election has three candidates

By Bree Duwyn Writer The Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation (MCFN) by-election is officially underway with three candidates, announced on Sept. 16 by MCFN Electoral Officer Veronica McLeod. The three candidates are Stephanie Lloy LaForme, nominated by Elizabeth Harris and seconded by Jordan Jamieson, William (Bill) Rodger LaForme, nominated by Alison LaForme and seconded by Drailyn Hill, and Clara (Claire) Sault, nominated by Colleen Dale Sault and seconded by Michael S. Maracle. Chief and Council is comprised of Chief Stacey Laforme and six councillors. The by-election will select one councillor to join Chief and Council. Two other candidates were nominated in the MCFN Nomination Meeting held on Sept. 10.
