Six Nations Elected Council send two councillors to Band/First Nation Representative Provincial Conference

By Bree Duwyn Writer Six Nations Elected Councillor Sherri-Lyn Hill and Councillor Melba Thomas attended the Band/First Nation Representative Provincial Conference from Sept. 13 to 15 at Casino Rama in Orillia, Ont.,. The travel was approved in a Six Nations Elected Council (SNEC) Political Liaison meeting on Sept. 12. The conference is meant to provide tools to foster an effective Band/First Nation Representative Program within communities and is being hosted by Koganaawsawin, the central coordinating body of the Anishinabek child, youth, and family well-being system. According to promotions for Koganaawsawin’s conference registration, all Band/First Nation Representatives, frontline child welfare advocates, and social and health directors should attend the three-day conference.
