Dates for Haudenosaunee deer hunt set

The annual Haudenosaunee deer harvest begans Monday, November 7 The Haudenosaunee Wildlife and Habitat Authority (HWHA) and Hamilton Conservation Authority (HCA) agreed to date for the 2022 season based on an existing Protocol that addresses the Treaty Rights of the Haudenosaunee on HCA owned lands. The 2022 deer harvesting season opened Monday and will be held at two areas of the Dundas Valley Conservation Area (DVCA) designated as Schedule A and Schedule B. November and December 2022, harvesting will occur concurrently. Harvesting will only occur on HCA owned lands on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays between November 7 and December 1 of 2022. The number of deer to be harvested is limited at 60 deer.
