Bear nets first goal with Canucks in win over Sabres

By Sam Laskaris Writer It’s safe to say that Ethan Bear has been enjoying the last few weeks of the National Hockey League season much better than the earlier portions of the 2022-23 campaign. Bear, a member of Ochapowace Nation is Saskatchewan, is now a 25-year-old defenceman with the Vancouver Canucks. He was traded to the Canucks on Oct. 28 from the Carolina Hurricanes. Bear had been a healthy scratch for Carolina’s first half dozen regular season matches this season before being dealt to the Canucks. Bear had spent just the one year with the Hurricanes. He appeared in 58 contests and earned 14 points, including five goals during the 2021-22 season.
