By Sam Laskaris Writer It might not be as memorable as playing in his first National Hockey League game or scoring his first goal in the league but Brandon Montour achieved another first this past week. Montour, a Six Nations member who is a defenceman with the Florida Panthers, engaged in his first NHL fight on Dec. 29 in a game against the Montreal Canadiens. With the Panthers enjoying a 7-2 lead late in the contest, Canadiens’ forward Brendan Gallagher lined up Montour against the boards and delivered a low hit near his knees. Montour responded immediately by dropping his gloves and managed to get several decent punches in on Gallagher.
