Adam Monture’s artwork will be standing tall at Hamilton Winterfest

By Lisa Iesse Writer HAMILTON – Adam Monture’s bear is on the loose and taking the artworld by storm. Monture is a Mohawk artist from Six Nations who recently worked with Jeremy Freiburger of Cobalt Connects to translate his brilliant paintings into three-dimensional sculptures. The art installation titled The Woodlands After Dark depicts woodland animals such as bear, wolves, turtles, loons, otters, deer, heron, and frogs in CNC cut aluminum with LED light accents. The Woodlands After Dark, is a collaborative project that will see Monture’s work featured in the hub of the city at Hamilton’s Winterfest. “That all started from the one painting, from the bear painting,” Monture explained to Turtle Island News.
