Snipers thumped by host Whitby Steelhawks

By Sam Laskaris Writer It just wasn’t their day. The Six Nations Snipers hit the road this past Saturday but not in the way they had originally planned. And then things only got worse from there for the local Arena Lacrosse League squad. The host Whitby Steelhawks registered a convincing 16-5 victory over the Snipers, the defending league champions, in a match held at Children’s Arena in Oshawa. “Our bus cancelled out at 2:30 and we were waiting for them to come,” said Snipers’ coach Darcy Powless. “They called and said we wrote down the wrong time. It all started right from there and guys just weren’t ready to play.” After finding enough individuals to drive, the Snipers, who carpooled to the match, arrived about 90 minutes before their scheduled…
