By Sam Laskaris Writer Another successful REZ Hoops tournament is in the books. A total of 14 clubs competed in the local youth basketball event, which concluded on Sunday. This marked the fifth time that tournament has been staged. But it was the first time participants were able to take part since 2020. The COVID-19 pandemic had forced the cancellation of the tourney in each of the past two years. The tournament moniker is a play on words, indicating not only it is an event for Indigenous competitors but tournament organizers chose the name REZ as they took the first letter of three words – Respect, Excitement and Zeal – that they hoped would be prevalent. The tournament featured three divisions. There were separate girls’ and boys’ high school categories….
