Metis cabin in Temagami area subject of litigation

A statement of claim has been issued by the Temagami First Nation (TFN) and the Teme-Augama Anishnabai (TAA) against Marc Descoteaux, a member of the Metis Nation of Ontario (MNO), his brother Peter Descoteaux, and the Ontario government. Marc Descoteaux applied for and received the support of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF) to build an incidental cabin (allowed because of his Indigenous ancestry) at Pond Lake.
