According to a joint news release from Nishnawbe Aski Nation (NAN) and the Sioux Lookout First Nations Health Authority, Fort Severn First Nation resident Miranda Mamakwa was unable to travel for medical followups after her surgery on four separate occasions between the end of May and early August. “These appointments were mandatory for her recovery and survival,” the news release said.
