By Ina Pace, Local Journalism Initiative Reporter, The Squamish Chief After a transformative year marked by cultural milestones, international diplomacy, and urgent public health action, Sxw\u00edxwtn Wilson Williams reflects on his role as chairperson of the Sk\u0331wx\u0331wu\u03017mesh U\u0301xwumixw (Squamish Nation). \u201cWhen we talk about how we are implementing our culture and who we are, it gives me chills.\u201d Elected to council 12 years ago, Sxw\u00edxwtn Wilson Williams is a spokesperson for Sk\u0331wx\u0331wu\u03017mesh U\u0301xwumixw (Squamish Nation), currently serving as the council\u2019s chairperson. \u201cMoving into the role of chairperson of the Nation, is quite an extravagant [evolution], cherished by me for certain,\u201d he said.
