BRANTFORD, ON \u2013 A cold alert has been issued for Brantford-Brant and Haldimand Norfolk by the\u00a0 Medical Officer of Health\u00a0 (MOH)\u00a0 for Grand Erie Public Health. Effective February 23, 2026\u00a0 a Cold Notification is issued by the MOH\u00a0 for parts or areas of\u00a0 the region when temperatures are expected to drop below -15 \u00baC, or when wind chill values reach -20 \u00baC . The temperatures put everyone at risk. In temperatures of -15\u00b0C or colder, unprotected skin can freeze in less than 30 minutes and the risk of developing hypothermia is high.
