The Squamish Public Library is inviting S\u1e35wx\u0331w\u00fa7mesh \u00daxwumixw (Squamish Nation) artists to submit proposals for a permanent interior art installation. According to the library\u2019s press release, the commissioned artwork\u2014planned to be installed in the fall this year\u2014will be \u201cprominently displayed \u2026 offering meaningful and visible acknowledgement\u201d of the Nation\u2019s culture and land. The call is part of a provincial enhancement project for various B.C. libraries, launched after the COVID-19 pandemic, for which the Squamish library has received a grant.
