By Connor McDowell, Local Journalism Initiative Reporter, Brandon Sun One month after Birdtail Sioux First Nation member Tr\u00e9chelle Bunn was elected chief of her community, she was described on a podcast called Matriarch Movement as a woman \u201cwho truly embodies what this movement is all about.\u201d \u201cAt just 25 years old, Tr\u00e9chelle is making history while balancing law school, community leadership and national advocacy,\u201d the podcast said. \u201cHer journey reminds us that the next generation isn\u2019t just preparing to lead \u2014 they are leading.\u201d Bunn was the first woman and youngest person ever to be elected chief of the First Nation in Westman.
