Patton was trying to stay warm that winter; the temperature outside was 34 degrees and she had no home of her own. Hospital police arrested her for trespassing. Eskenazi\u2019s officers wrote in their report that Patton had previously caused \u201ca disturbance\u201d at the hospital by loitering. They gave her another trespass card with orders: unless seeking medical treatment, stay away. \u201cEskenazi was her safe space,\u201d said Patton\u2019s mother, Ebony Chisholm. \u201cI took her there so many times for mental health evaluations. I wanted help getting her committed.\u201d But the family said Eskenazi didn\u2019t help. Instead, the city\u2019s lone public… <\/p>\n
