A wind turbine in Sanikiluaq, Nunavut is scheduled to get installed in September, completing a construction project that began in 2023, according to Clara Phillips, development project manager for Nunavut Nukkiksautiit Corporation. Called the Anuriqjuak Nukkiksautiit Project, wind-powered electricity could start flowing to the community 2027. \u201cWe are targeting the end the calendar year for commercial date of operation, but this depends on many factors,\u201d Phillips said.
