T\u0101pis: A Love Letter to Our Dog Kin is the latest exhibit at the Ferry Building Gallery, showcasing nine intricate dog blankets crafted by four Indigenous artists. \u201cIt is with great pride to be able to showcase this exhibit,\u201d said Cree and M\u00e9tis artist Adele (\u14aa\u1422\u147f\u14f1\u1424\u140f\u1422\u1475\u1424) Arseneau. \u201cIt has been created to show the beauty and celebration of dog regalia as completed by Michif, Dene and other Nations to celebrate our valued dog kin.\u201d T\u0101pis Originating from M\u00e9tis, Northern Cree and Dene communities, t\u0101pis are decorated blankets to drape over sled dogs, symbolizing respect.
