In an Oct. 21 letter to Premier Danielle Smith, Bearspaw Chief Darcy Dixon, Chiniki Chief Aaron Young and Goodstoney Chief Clifford Poucette say the referendum process has \u201ccaused real and lasting division.\u201d \u201cTreaty rights and the nation-to-nation relationship with the Crown were never open to re-negotiation through a provincial referendum,\u201d read the letter from the Treaty 7 First Nation Chiefs\u2019 Association, which includes Stoney Nakoda First Nations and the Tsuut\u2019ina Nation. \u201cThe fact that this process was allowed to proceed… <\/p>\n
