A regulatory proposal from the government is designed to empower police \u201cto subdue any protest, blockade or \u2018barrier\u2019 to the advancement of the Ring of Fire,\u201d Quisess said in a recent letter to the province\u2019s solicitor general and attorney general, as well as the federal justice minister. Premier Doug Ford\u2019s government \u201cis laying the groundwork for the legislative, regulatory or policy mechanisms and police use of force required to build the Northern Road Link,\u201d according to Quisess\u2019s letter, dated Oct. 31.
