The goal of the inquest was to discover facts about the final hours of Myles Sanderson_the man solely responsible for the Sept. 4, 2022 mass killing on the James Smith Cree Nation and nearby Village of Weldon. Sanderson fatally stabbed 11 people during his rampage and was responsible for\u00a017 attempted murders during that weekend. The inquest, presided by coroner Robert Kennedy, ran from Feb. 26 to 29, hearing from medical experts, responding police officers, and emergency responders that were in contact with Sanderson when he died in custody on Sept. 7.
