Tavares is the head coach for the defending national Mann Cup champion Six Nations Chiefs AND the head coach of the Buffalo Bandits, the reigning champs of the professional National Lacrosse League (NLL). The Chiefs will kick off their 2024 campaign with their regular season opener at home on May 20, versus the visiting Owen Sound North Stars, at the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena. While Tavares is expected to be at that contest, his focus right now is clearly with the Bandits, who are hoping to win back-to-back NLL championships.
