Investigators have now determined the deceased,\u00a0 Gordon Oughtred, 82, of Brant County, died as result of homicide. Brant County OPP have charged Elfgard Oughtred, of Brant County, with second degree murder, contrary to section 235(1) of the Criminal Code. The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brantford on August 16, 2024. A publication ban has been issued and OPP said\u00a0 further information will not be released.
