One thing has become clear with the current Six Nations Elected Council (SNEC). It is in desperate need of a Conflict-of-Interest seminar! The entire issue of Conflict of Interest isn’t difficult to understand. If you are a public official and you or your family stand to gain financially you are in a conflict. It’s as simple as that. No maybes or what ifs. A conflict of interest happens when an elected official’s private or financial interest conflicts or crosses with public duties. And it isn’t just in financial gain.
