Hay River’s Wally Schumann announces candidacy for Northwest Territory Metis Nation presidency

By Kody Ferron, Local Journalism Initiative Reporter, Yellowknifer A former GNWT cabinet minister and Hay River Metis Government Council President is now running to be president of the Northwest Territory Metis Nation (NWTMN). Wally Schumann said his skills gained from his previous positions will undoubtedly serve him well, if elected president. “It’s all about networking,” he said. “This country’s really not as big as people think it is.
